Coronavirus spreads from person to person by close contacts, related to other respiratory illnesses.
Person-to-person spread is thought to occur mainly through respiratory droplets produced during an infected person coughs or sneezes.
These droplets can settle in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
It’s currently unclear if a person can get 2019-nCoV by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.
Droplets of bodily fluids – such as saliva or mucus – from an infected person are separated in the air or on surfaces by coughing or sneezing.
